Israel is reportedly urging the United States to adopt a more aggressive strategy toward Iran in the event of renewed military confrontation, with calls for rapid strikes targeting Tehran’s energy infrastructure.
According to reports by Channel 12, Israeli officials believe prospects for a diplomatic resolution with Iran are fading and are advocating decisive measures aimed at weakening the country’s oil and gas sector, a critical source of revenue for the Iranian government.
The report claims some Arab states are quietly supportive of stronger pressure on Iran due to longstanding concerns over regional instability, Tehran’s military activities and its backing of armed proxy groups across the Middle East.
Analysts note that Iran’s energy industry plays a major role in funding government operations, including its nuclear programme, missile development and regional alliances.
Any major disruption to the sector could have significant economic and geopolitical consequences.
The development comes amid continued tensions in the region, with concerns over maritime security, regional conflicts and the broader implications of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
However, observers warn that any direct military escalation involving critical infrastructure could further destabilise global energy markets and increase tensions across the Middle East.
