INEC Uploads Over 2,000 Results of Ekiti Governorship Election on IREV

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has successfully uploaded 2,048 results from 2,445 polling units onto its Result Viewing Portal as of 6:41 PM on Saturday, showcasing a significant increase from the 1,000 results uploaded just 30 minutes earlier at 6:12 PM.

This off-cycle governorship election features fourteen candidates, including the incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who is seeking a second term before his current mandate concludes in October.

Key challengers include Oluwole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party, Oluwadare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress, Oyebanji Olajuyin from the Labour Party, and Blessing Abegunde of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.

Other candidates in the race are Samuel Akande (AAC), Ayodeji Ojo (ADP), Opeyemi Felegan (Accord), Joseph Anifowose (APM), Bidemi Awogbemi (APP), Olaniyi Ayodele (PRP), and Victor Adetunji (ZLP).

As collation continues across the state, results are still being transmitted to the portal, keeping stakeholders updated on the election’s progress.
