Natasha Osawaru, wife of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has revealed her ambition to become President of Nigeria.
Osawaru, who is a member of the Edo State House of Assembly, made the declaration during the 92nd birthday celebration of her grandfather, Gabriel Igbinedion, in Benin City.
In a video from the celebration which has gone viral, the lawmaker showered praise on her grandfather, affectionately describing him as her “baby” while expressing her joy at spending time with him.
She then promised to pursue the country’s highest political office before his death.
“You are amazing, you are like my baby right now, I love you so much. As you age, you become sweeter and better, it is so amazing to be around you, grandpa. I promise you that I will be the president of this country before you go,” she said.
Osawaru represents the Egor constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly and was recently appointed Minority Leader of the legislature.
Speaking after her appointment, she described the position as more than a title, saying it represents “a trust”.
Her political ambition comes amid growing public interest in her personal and political life.
Osawaru married 2Baba in July 2025, following the singer’s separation from his former wife, Annie Macaulay Idibia. The couple welcomed their first child together and held a dedication ceremony in February.
Amid the public attention surrounding his marriage, 2Baba has repeatedly maintained that Osawaru was not responsible for the breakdown of his relationship with Annie.
