LAGOS, NIGERIA – A self-acclaimed traditional herbalist has sparked a fresh wave of controversy after publicly accusing popular Nigerian TikToker and live streamer, Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller of neglecting his spiritual obligations.
In a video currently circulating across social media platforms including X and Instagram, the practitioner alleges that the content creator visited his shrine three years ago in a state of distress, seeking spiritual intervention to secure online fame.
Starnews NG reports that the herbalist claims that, having achieved significant wealth and notoriety, Peller has since failed to acknowledge the source of his success or provide the promised compensation.
Addressing the TikToker directly, the man issued a stern 24-hour ultimatum for Peller to “do the needful” and return to the shrine. He threatened that failure to comply would result in the influencer losing his popularity and facing financial ruin.
“Peller! Peller!! I did charm for you to become popular. You became popular and forgot me,” the man stated in the viral clip. “I remember when you came to my shrine crying that you wanted to be popular. Now you are popular and rich, and you have forgotten about me. Come and do the right thing, otherwise you will not be popular again.”
This latest drama follows closely on the heels of Peller’s high-profile marriage to fellow TikToker, Jarvis, which has kept the couple firmly in the social media spotlight. Online reaction to the herbalist’s claims has been sharply divided; while some users view the warning as a serious matter rooted in traditional belief, others remain highly sceptical, dismissing the video as a transparent attempt by the practitioner to “clout-chase” by riding the wave of Peller’s current viral fame.
Peller has firmly rejected the allegations. In a video statement released on Instagram, the content creator addressed the rumours, maintaining that his rise to prominence was achieved entirely through his own efforts. He insisted that his success is the result of “hard work, consistency and determination” rather than any mysterious shortcuts or spiritual intervention.
