Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has revealed that he is currently experiencing difficulties with walking and occasional swelling in parts of his body.
Edochie made the disclosure during an emotional visit to ailing Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah in Accra, Ghana, where he offered prayers and financial assistance towards his colleague’s recovery.
In a video from the visit circulating online, Edochie said he was also dealing with personal health challenges but remained hopeful about getting better.
The veteran actor said walking had become difficult for him and that he sometimes noticed swelling in different parts of his body.
“Sitting down here, I’m not very well myself. Walking is a problem for me now, but I still have hope that I will recover myself,” Edochie said.
He added that the swelling sometimes reduced after appearing, noting that his hand was swollen at the time of the visit.
Edochie also spoke about his desire not to become a burden to people around him, saying he had been praying that God would determine the time of his death.
The actor was in Ghana to support Armah, who has reportedly been battling an illness for almost 11 years.
During the visit, Edochie expressed confidence that his Ghanaian colleague would recover.
“It is my belief that you will recover one day,” he told Armah.
According to reports from Ghana, Armah’s wife, Stella Amina Armah, said her husband’s health challenges began while he was working in the United States.
She reportedly said he had high blood pressure without knowing it and later developed elevated cholesterol levels.
Armah is currently undergoing physiotherapy and receiving daily massages as part of his treatment and rehabilitation, according to his wife.
The condition of his longtime colleague reportedly left Edochie emotional during the visit, as he offered encouragement and support to the family.
Despite speaking about his own health difficulties, Edochie maintained a hopeful outlook and continued to pray for Armah’s recovery.
