Nigerian Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has shared an emotional reflection on his past relationship, revealing how personal struggles affected his marriage and eventually led to separation from his wife.

In a post shared on his X page, the Nollywood actor disclosed that he lost his emotional spark and gradually shifted all his attention and affection toward his son, leaving little for his wife.

According to him, while he became a devoted and exceptional father, he admitted that he failed in his role as a husband.

“I lost my spark, and my wife suffered for it. I took all my love and attention and poured it into my son, leaving my wife behind,” he wrote.

The actor further confessed that despite his commitment to fatherhood, his marriage suffered because he became disconnected from the man his wife once knew.

“I became an excellent father but a woeful husband,” he stated.

Jim Iyke recounted that after enduring the situation for some time, his wife confronted him and expressed concerns that he had changed significantly.

“After a while, she said, ‘I can’t find the man I married anymore,’” he wrote.

The actor said he responded honestly, admitting that he was struggling emotionally and could not determine how long it would take him to heal.

“I told her I didn’t know what it would take for me to heal. I told her that if she could wait, I’d appreciate it and if she couldn’t, I would understand,” he added.

According to him, his wife eventually decided she could not continue with the situation, leading both of them to part ways peacefully.
“She said she couldn’t. So we shook hands and parted as friends,” he concluded.

The post has since generated reactions on social media, with many users expressing mixed emotions over the actor’s candid revelation on love, healing, fatherhood, and relationships.
