“He Looked Annie in the Eye and Asked, ‘Have You Slept with Brymo?’” — Singer Brymo Reveals Encounter with 2baba

Nigerian singer Brymo has candidly spoken about his past relationships, revealing that he was romantically involved with several older married women during the early stages of his music career.

The award-winning artiste made the revelation during an appearance on the NOTJUSTOK podcast, where he reflected on life after the success of one of his breakthrough songs, a period he said brought him widespread attention and admiration.

According to Brymo, many of the women who approached him claimed they were separated from their husbands despite still being legally married.

“I met quite a number of older women who were truly married. They would tell me they were separated from their husbands,” he said.

The singer recounted one encounter that has stayed with him over the years. He said one of the women invited him to perform at her sister’s wedding and later asked him to entertain guests at her family home that same evening.

Brymo explained that he initially accepted the invitation, believing it was a routine performance. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when the woman informed him that her husband would also be present.

“She said, ‘Our baba will be there.’ I thought she meant her father, but she said, ‘No, my husband,’” he recalled.

The disclosure immediately unsettled him, with Brymo admitting he feared the possible consequences of appearing before the husband of a woman with whom he had been romantically involved.

“As far as I’m concerned, me going there to perform that night is me opening myself up for some crazy ritual. I just couldn’t take it, so I had to get out,” he said.

Reflecting further, Brymo said the incident reminded him of a memorable encounter with fellow music star 2Baba in 2019.

According to him, the meeting took place at Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1, where 2Baba unexpectedly asked his wife, Annie, whether she had ever been involved with Brymo.

“As at 2019, I remember that moment in Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1 when 2Face looked me square in the eye and asked Annie, ‘You don fuck Brymo?’ I will never forget it,” he said.

Brymo described the exchange as one that has remained etched in his memory, saying it is an experience he has never been able to forget.
