Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has appeared before the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of the alleged fake government agency known as the Presidential Fiscal Intelligence and Public Complaints Commission (PFIPC).
Gbajabiamila’s lawyer, Jiti Ogunye, confirmed in a statement that the Chief of Staff honoured the ICPC’s invitation in compliance with President Tinubu’s directive and fully cooperated with investigators.
According to the statement, Gbajabiamila arrived at the ICPC headquarters at about 3:00 p.m. on Monday, where he made a statement and responded to questions relating to the commission’s investigation.
Following the session, he was allowed to leave and immediately resumed his official duties.
The ICPC is investigating the activities of the alleged Presidential Fiscal Intelligence and Public Complaints Commission, which authorities claim operated without legal authorisation while falsely presenting itself as a federal government agency.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Presidency nor the ICPC had issued any further official statement on the ongoing investigation.
