Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, will today be inaugurated as Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), following his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The inauguration is scheduled to hold at 10 a.m. at the Ministry of Power headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.

Ahead of the inauguration, Fayose met with the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, to discuss the agency’s operations and its mandate to expand electricity access to rural communities.

The former governor disclosed the meeting in a statement, saying it focused on improving the effectiveness of the REA.

“I met with the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, an engineer, today, and we had fruitful discussions,” Fayose said.

President Tinubu appointed Fayose as Chairman of the REA Board last month as part of the reconstitution of the agency’s governing board.

According to the Presidency, Fayose will serve alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta as members and non-executive directors. The Director-General of the agency, Abba Aliyu, and three executive directors previously appointed will complete the board.
