Ex-House of Rep Member Samaila Dalhat Dies In Katsina

Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Samaila Dalhat, has died in Katsina State.

Dalhat, who represented the Kankia/Ingawa/Kusada Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, reportedly died on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Political stakeholders in Katsina State confirmed his death, although the circumstances surrounding his passing had not been established as of the time of filing this report.

News of the former lawmaker’s death has triggered an outpouring of tributes from political associates, community members and other stakeholders.

Among those who mourned Dalhat was Ashafa Saulawa, National Secretary of the 25 Million Youth Awareness for Better Nigeria, who described the deceased as a kind-hearted and respected man.

In a condolence message shared on Thursday, Saulawa expressed sympathy to Dalhat’s family and the people of Katsina State over what he described as a painful and irreparable loss.

He prayed for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for the late former lawmaker, asking God to grant him eternal rest and paradise.

Saulawa also prayed for strength and comfort for Dalhat’s family, relatives, friends, colleagues and associates as they mourn his death.

Several other individuals also took to social media to pay tribute to the former legislator, highlighting his contributions and personality during his lifetime.

Dalhat’s death adds to a series of recent losses involving serving and former political figures across the country.
