Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, stole the spotlight at an Osun State campaign rally after jumping over a railing to join his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, in a lively dance.

The moment, captured on video, quickly attracted attention as supporters and campaign participants cheered the singer and the governor.

Davido, who is the governor’s nephew, has openly supported Adeleke’s bid for re-election ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election. He was previously appointed to lead youth mobilisation for his uncle’s campaign and has participated in activities aimed at encouraging young voters to support the governor.

The singer has also publicly defended Adeleke amid political tensions surrounding the election. In recent remarks, Davido urged young people to mobilise voters for the governor and highlighted what he described as achievements of the Adeleke administration.

The latest rally moment has added an entertainment dimension to the increasingly intense campaign season in Osun, where Adeleke is seeking a second term.

With the election approaching, political parties and candidates are intensifying grassroots mobilisation and outreach across the state.

For Davido, however, the rally offered another opportunity to combine family loyalty, political support and his unmistakable stage energy as he joined his uncle before an enthusiastic crowd.
