By Paul Joseph

The Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, has donated brand-new tablets to 12 members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federated Chapel, in a move aimed at strengthening their professional capacity and supporting technology-driven journalism.

The presentation has been welcomed by members of the chapel as a significant boost to their work, with the devices expected to ease information gathering, communication, news production and other daily reporting activities.

Adeniyan presented the tablets to the chapel’s chairman, Comrade Alaba Aliu, describing the gesture as an opportunity to give back to media practitioners and support them in discharging their responsibilities more effectively.

He acknowledged the important role journalists play in society, stressing the need to encourage practitioners and provide support that can make their work more convenient and productive.

The donation comes at a time when digital tools have become increasingly important to modern journalism, enabling reporters to gather information, communicate with sources and produce news content more efficiently.

For members of the Federated Chapel, the intervention represents a practical contribution to their professional development and welfare.

Reacting on behalf of the beneficiaries, Aliu expressed appreciation to the governor’s spokesperson, describing the donation as a memorable development for the chapel.

He commended Adeniyan for extending the gesture to members and recognising the needs of journalists, noting that the provision of the devices had generated excitement among the beneficiaries.

The chapel chairman also offered prayers for God’s continued blessings upon Adeniyan, expressing hope for greater accomplishments and progress in his personal and professional endeavours.

Aliu reaffirmed the chapel’s gratitude, saying the gesture had brought joy to members and demonstrated goodwill towards the journalism community.

The 12 beneficiaries are Alaba Aliu, Bayo Adediran, Rev. David Akinadewo, Jimisayo Adebiyi, Joshua Oluwadare, Ifewumi Sheikina, Ngosi Aduloju, Femi Ojopagogo, Tayo Adu, Abiola Akinnayajo, Sanya Adegbenro and Taiwo Gbamila.

The donation adds to efforts to improve journalists’ access to digital resources needed for their daily assignments, particularly as newsrooms increasingly rely on technology for reporting and content production.

For the beneficiaries, the tablets are not merely electronic devices but useful tools expected to support their reporting duties and improve the efficiency of their professional activities.

The chapel’s leadership and members have consequently acknowledged Adeniyan’s intervention as a gesture of encouragement for journalism and a contribution to the continued development of media practice in Ondo State.
