ONDO STATE — The distribution of cash palliatives for flood victims in Ondo South has concluded, covering Okitipupa, Irele, Odigbo, and Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo local government areas. This follows earlier successful disbursements in Ilaje and Ese-Odo.
The intervention, led by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, provided immediate financial relief to families whose livelihoods were disrupted by recent flooding.
In a chat with Starnews NG yesterday, former House of Representatives member, Hon. Akinjo Kolade, commended the initiative as a timely and necessary response to the challenges faced by residents.
“This intervention reflects a sincere commitment to the welfare of our people,” Akinjo stated. “When leaders step forward to provide direct support during a crisis, it restores public confidence and offers a vital lifeline to families working to rebuild their lives.”
The distribution has been met with significant appreciation from the local population. Many beneficiaries, who had faced prolonged hardship following the floods, expressed their gratitude to the Minister.
Residents have been vocal in their praise, offering prayers for the Minister and thanking him for his responsiveness to the needs of the grassroots, Starnews NG reports
