Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has offered words of encouragement to celebrity businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for a House of Representatives seat.
Cubana Chief Priest was vying for the APC ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. Unfortunately, he lost to the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency, Canice Nwachukwu, after reportedly polling just 14 votes.
In response to the outcome, Seyi took to his Instagram page on Sunday to share a message of support for the nightlife promoter, which Cubana later reposted. “Bro, sometimes by losing a battle, you find a new way to win the war. Keep your head up, @cubana_chiefpriest. We know what you are capable of achieving,” Seyi wrote.
Cubana Chief Priest had previously reacted to the primary election results in a video circulating online, expressing that he had no regrets about contesting for the position. “I’m a hustler, and I don’t regret trying to contest for a position. My only regret was trusting the elders in the community. I know how much I gave them, but only 14 people voted for me in the primary,” he said.
His defeat sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with some users mocking his inability to secure the APC ticket despite his public support for the president.
