President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Senator Dr. Ibrahim Ida as the new Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). The announcement was made on Monday in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Dr. Ida, a former senator who represented Katsina Central, brings extensive experience in public administration and finance to his new role. He holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Abuja.
Before his tenure in the Senate, Ida served as Commissioner of Finance in Katsina State and later as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.
In the same statement, President Tinubu also nominated seven individuals to fill vacant commissioner positions at the National Population Commission (NPC). These nominations are subject to confirmation by the National Assembly.
The nominees and their respective states include: Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi (Ekiti), Nasiru Mu’azu (Zamfara), Usman Abubakar Tuggar (Bauchi), Dr. Isaka Alada Yahaya (Kwara), Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda (Katsina), Suleiman Umar (Jigawa), and Hon. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo (Sokoto).
Also announced were additional federal appointments, including new roles for other public officials, as part of the administration’s ongoing reshuffle of leadership across government agencies.
The Corporate Affairs Commission is the government agency responsible for the registration and regulation of companies and business names in Nigeria.
