Bam Adebayo, the star center of the Miami Heat, delivered one of the greatest individual performances in basketball history after scoring an astonishing 83 points against the Washington Wizards, rewriting the NBA record books.
The historic feat occurred on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, where the Heat defeated the Wizards 150–129 in a high-scoring game that will be remembered for decades.
Adebayo’s extraordinary performance now ranks as the second-highest single-game scoring output in NBA history, surpassing the legendary Kobe Bryant, who scored 81 points in 2006. Only Wilt Chamberlain remains ahead with his iconic 100-point game in 1962.
The 28-year-old dominated from the opening quarter, scoring 31 points in the first period, 43 by halftime, and 62 by the end of the third quarter before sealing the historic milestone at the free-throw line late in the game.
Adebayo also set NBA records for free throws made (36) and attempted (43) in a single game, highlighting how relentlessly he attacked the basket throughout the night.
Basketball analysts say the performance has instantly cemented Adebayo’s name among the greatest scoring nights in the history of the National Basketball Association.
