Avoid Tinubu’s Rice, More Hunger Is Coming — Primate Ayodele

By Paul Joseph

Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder and spiritual head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has warned Nigerians against collecting rice being distributed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying more hunger and economic hardship are still ahead.

Ayodele issued the warning in a statement shared on his X account on Friday, October 2, 2026, amid ongoing public concerns over food prices and the rising cost of living.

The cleric claimed that Nigerians had yet to experience the worst of the economic difficulties facing the country.

He urged citizens not to see the rice distribution as a solution to the broader economic challenges, arguing that accepting the food items would not address the underlying hardship.

“Real Hunger is still coming to Nigeria, you’ve not seen anything. APC have brought hunger to Nigerians. The rice you’re collecting from them will bring more hunger, depression and troubles. Stop collecting rice,” Ayodele said.

The statement has generated reactions on social media, with some users questioning the cleric’s position on the APC and referencing some of his previous comments concerning Nigerian political developments.

Ayodele’s latest warning comes amid continuing public debate over food affordability, household expenses and the broader cost-of-living situation in Nigeria.
