Renowned Nigerian cleric, Joshua Selman, has donated relief materials valued at over ₦100 million to victims of recent attacks in Plateau State, as part of efforts to support affected communities and promote recovery.
The donation was presented during a courtesy visit to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang at the Old Government House in Rayfield, Jos, on April 15, 2026.
Speaking during the visit, Selman, who was accompanied by Pastor John Kennedy and Bestman Uwadia, said the delegation came to stand in solidarity with the people of the state in their time of grief and to offer practical support.
He described Plateau as a land of “good people, rich culture, and great potential,” while acknowledging the pain caused by the recent violence. Despite the challenges, he expressed optimism about the future of the state.
“We are here to lend our voice with the government and the good people of Plateau that there is still hope. In the midst of chaos and unfortunate incidents, there is always a way out,” he said.
Selman noted that the visit went beyond words of encouragement, stressing the importance of tangible support.
According to him, the intervention includes a truckload of 3,000 bags of rice, cooking oil, and additional financial assistance targeted at affected families and communities.
He added that while such contributions cannot replace lives lost, they serve as a symbol of compassion and collective responsibility among citizens, religious bodies, and the government.
Receiving the donation, Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation, describing the gesture as timely and deeply compassionate.
He said it reflects unity and reinforces ongoing efforts by the state government and faith-based organisations to assist all victims, regardless of religious background.
The governor also called for sustained collaboration among stakeholders and urged citizens, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, to contribute to peacebuilding and recovery efforts.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring stability and expressed confidence that Plateau State would overcome its current challenges and regain its reputation as a peaceful and thriving region.
