Top figures of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have arrived in Kano State ahead of the anticipated defection of former governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The high-powered delegation, led by former Senate President and ADC National Chairman David Mark, touched down at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, where they were received by former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.
Also in attendance were prominent political actors including former Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, ex-Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi.
Others in the delegation include Senator Dino Melaye, former APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun, and ex-Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha.
Following their arrival, the political leaders proceeded to Kwankwaso’s residence along Miller Road in Kano, where final consultations and preparations are ongoing ahead of his formal entry into the ADC.
Kwankwaso’s expected defection is widely seen as a major political development, with analysts predicting it could reshape alliances and strengthen opposition coalitions ahead of upcoming elections.
The convergence of influential figures in Kano underscores growing momentum within the ADC as it positions itself as a formidable force in Nigeria’s evolving political terrain.
