2027 Reps: ‘Ayelokan’ Group Mobilises Support for Engr. Olumide Omosuyi in Okitipupa/Irele

A youth-led movement operating under the banner of “Ayelokan” has officially declared its support for Engr. Olumide Omosuyi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the 2027 National Assembly elections in Nigeria.

The group, which was recently inaugurated by youths in the Ode Aye community of Okitipupa Local Government Area and is backed by citizens of the community in the diaspora, aims to ensure that the next representative for the constituency hails from Ode Aye.

In a statement released on Monday, Adeolu Dayo, one of the financiers of the group currently based in Qatar, outlined the group’s strategy and motivation.

“The mission is to mobilise massively for Engr. Olumide Omosuyi to win the election. This is why we are hitting the ground running. Members of the mobilisation committee are to visit each unit in our federal constituency to seek support for our candidate,” Dayo stated.

He further emphasised the group’s rationale for the endorsement, highlighting both the candidate’s personal qualifications and the community’s demand for political equity.

“Apart from the fact that he is competent, educated, and exposed, and would perform as a member of the House of Representatives being an international businessman and a certified professional, we also stand for fairness and equity because it is the turn of Ode Aye to produce the member of the House of Representatives in Okitipupa/Irele Federal,” he explained.

Dayo was also critical of the current representation, arguing that a change is necessary for the development of the constituency.

“Reelecting the incumbent is like repeating failure. He is also not favoured with the zoning arrangement in the federal constituency. Ridiculously, he performed below expectations. For some of us abroad, we are holding talks to support this project and we will not leave any stone unturned to ensure this is achieved, including coming home to campaign for Engr. Omosuyi,” he added.

According to reports from Starnews NG, the “Ayelokan” group is intensifying its efforts to consolidate support across the constituency, signalling a significant push to reshape the political landscape in the upcoming 2027 polls.
