Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has confirmed that Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo will remain his running mate in the 2027 governorship election.
Yusuf made the announcement during a meeting with political appointees serving in the administration of President Bola Tinubu at the Kano State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
The governor said history decision was based on Garo’s loyalty, commitment to duty and contributions to the administration since they assumed office.
“I have no regrets for choosing Garo as my Deputy in the last few months, and he has proven to be the right choice so far. I want to confirm to you that I have every confidence in him,” Yusuf said.
He noted that the deputy governor had played a key role in supporting government policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the state.
According to Yusuf, Garo has consistently demonstrated dedication, responsibility and competence in carrying out assignments entrusted to him.
“His contributions have been remarkable, and his commitment to the progress of Kano State has remained unquestionable. Together, we will continue to work towards achieving the goals we set for our people,” the governor added.
Yusuf also called on party leaders, supporters and other political stakeholders to remain united as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general elections.
“We must remain focused, united and committed as we continue to build on the progress recorded by this administration and prepare for the challenges ahead,” he said.
The governor expressed confidence that sustained unity within the party would strengthen its position and help consolidate the achievements of his administration ahead of the next governorship poll.
