Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not secure a second term in office, insisting he will serve only one term.
Sowore made the assertion on Friday while addressing journalists and supporters in Abuja, pointing to growing dissatisfaction across the country over economic hardship and insecurity.
According to him, Nigerians are increasingly frustrated with the current administration and must take decisive action at the polls in 2027. He accused the government of worsening living conditions, arguing that citizens must resist any attempt to retain power beyond a single term.
Sowore stated that the responsibility lies with Nigerians to ensure change, emphasizing that the 2027 general election presents an opportunity to determine the country’s direction.
Echoing similar sentiments, former Minister of Transportation and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, said many Nigerians are already looking ahead to the next election with the intention of voting out the current administration.
Speaking during an appearance on The Morning Brief on Channels Television, Amaechi cited rising living costs and economic challenges as key drivers of public discontent.
He highlighted issues such as increasing fuel prices, expensive transportation, and general hardship, arguing that these conditions have fueled widespread dissatisfaction among citizens.
Amaechi maintained that Nigerians would ultimately decide the outcome in 2027, suggesting that the prevailing economic realities could significantly influence voter sentiment.
The remarks from both figures add to the intensifying political discourse ahead of the next general election, as debates over governance, economic performance, and public welfare continue to shape national conversations.
