Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has claimed to possess evidence against former Adamawa Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo over allegations involving the rape of a 13-year-old girl.
The activist has urged the Labour Party to reconsider Abbo’s candidacy for the 2027 Adamawa State governorship election and nominate another candidate amid the controversy.
VeryDarkMan reportedly made the allegation while calling for accountability, saying he intends to release the purported evidence publicly this week.
He further claimed that other individuals had raised similar allegations against the former lawmaker, adding that he also possessed evidence relating to those claims.
The activist called on relevant authorities to investigate the allegations and ensure that appropriate action is taken if they are substantiated.
He also suggested that the controversy could have implications for Abbo’s governorship ambition, arguing that allegations involving a minor warrant serious attention.
However, the claims remain allegations made by VeryDarkMan and have not been independently verified for this report. The purported evidence has not been made available in the information reviewed.
Abbo’s response to the latest allegations was not available at the time of filing this report.
The development raises questions about accountability in politics and the need for appropriate investigation of allegations of sexual abuse, particularly those involving minors.
Whether the activist will release the evidence he claims to possess, and whether the relevant authorities will open an investigation, remains to be seen. Any findings will be subject to due process, and the allegations should not be treated as established facts without verification.
