Wilmington, North Carolina – A 21-year-old U.S. Marine, Lance Corporal Daniel Montano, has died following a violent street brawl in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Montano was stabbed to death during the large-scale altercation, which involved multiple individuals. Another person sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Video footage of the incident has sparked criticism of responding officers, showing police using pepper spray to disperse the crowd while some observers allege that emergency medical aid was delayed.
The suspect responsible for Montano’s death remains at large. Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying and locating the individual involved.
Law enforcement officials have urged anyone with information to contact local authorities immediately.
