United States President Donald Trump will attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where he is also expected to participate in the trophy presentation ceremony alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
The White House confirmed on Friday, July 17, 2026, that Trump will attend the showpiece match between Argentina and Spain after participating in a FIFA reception at Trump Tower in New York.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described the tournament as one of the most successful and secure FIFA World Cups ever hosted.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino had earlier announced that Trump would join him in presenting the World Cup trophy to the winning team, highlighting the close cooperation between FIFA and the United States as co-hosts of the expanded 48-team tournament alongside Canada and Mexico.
Trump’s appearance at the final will mark another high-profile sporting engagement after he attended the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final.
The event is expected to draw global attention, with world leaders, football dignitaries and thousands of supporters converging on New Jersey for the conclusion of the first 48-team FIFA World Cup.
