Former U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that American military forces will remain on high alert around Iran until a comprehensive agreement is fully secured, signaling rising tension despite a temporary pause in hostilities.
In a strongly worded statement shared on Truth Social, Trump indicated that U.S. military assets will stay “locked and loaded” pending what he described as full compliance with a “real deal” from Tehran.
He cautioned that any violation could trigger a renewed and intensified military response.
The warning follows a fragile two-week ceasefire that reportedly paused major strikes in exchange for Iran reopening the critical Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route.
According to the statement, U.S. forces are maintaining readiness while closely monitoring developments, underscoring a strategy of sustained pressure as negotiations continue.
Attention is now turning to planned talks in Islamabad on Saturday, where officials are expected to determine whether the ceasefire can evolve into a lasting agreement or collapse into renewed confrontation.
The situation remains fluid, with both diplomatic and military pathways still in play.
