Trump Claims Iran ‘Totally Defeated’, Rejects Possible Deal

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has declared that Iran has been “totally defeated” in the ongoing military campaign involving the United States and Israel, insisting he would not accept any deal with Tehran.

Trump made the claim on Friday in a post on his Truth Social platform, accusing what he described as the “fake news media” of failing to acknowledge the success of the US military operation against Iran.

“The Fake News Media hates to report how well the United States Military has done against Iran, which is totally defeated and wants a deal – but not a deal that I would accept,” Trump wrote, without giving further details.

The remarks followed earlier statements by the US president that American forces had carried out heavy strikes on military targets around Kharg Island, a major oil export hub in Iran.

Trump also disclosed that the US Navy would soon begin escorting oil tankers through the strategic Strait of Hormuz to ensure the safety of international shipping in the region.

Despite the claims of victory by Washington, tensions in the region remain high as Tehran launched a new wave of drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and some Gulf states.

Meanwhile, senior Iranian officials joined thousands of supporters at a pro-government rally in Tehran, where demonstrators waved banners with slogans condemning the United States and Israel.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, also dismissed the possibility of renewed negotiations with Washington, saying talks were no longer on Tehran’s agenda.

In an interview with PBS News earlier in the week, Araghchi said Iran had a “very bitter experience” from previous negotiations with the United States and would continue its response for as long as necessary.

The latest developments highlight rising tensions in the Middle East, with fears that continued military exchanges could further escalate the conflict in the region.
