Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested three suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP collaborators in Monguno, Borno State, reinforcing ongoing counter-insurgency efforts in Nigeria’s volatile North-East region.
The arrests were carried out on April 19, 2026, during a targeted joint operation in the Abari area of Monguno Local Government Area, where the suspects were intercepted while allegedly transporting logistics believed to be intended for insurgent groups operating within the Lake Chad axis.
Security sources indicated that items recovered from the suspects included materials suspected to support terrorist activities, highlighting the continued reliance of insurgent networks on civilian-linked supply chains.
The suspects are currently in custody undergoing investigation to determine the extent of their involvement and possible connections to broader extremist operations.
Operation Hadin Kai remains Nigeria’s central military campaign against Boko Haram and its affiliates, focusing on disrupting logistics, reclaiming territory, and weakening insurgent capabilities.
The arrests expose a persistent reality: insurgency is sustained not only by fighters but by covert local networks.
While tactical victories are recorded, the deeper challenge lies in dismantling the socio-economic and logistical structures that continue to enable terrorism within affected communities.
