Traditionalists under the Ancient Religious Societies of African Descendants International Council (ARSADIC) have predicted that 2026 will be a year marked by peace, progress, and joyful events across Nigeria.
In a New Year message delivered on Thursday in Osogbo, the President of ARSADIC, Aare Ifagbenusola Atanda, commended the Federal Government for its achievements in various sectors, expressing confidence that the new year would surpass 2025 in prosperity and development.
Atanda urged Nigerians, irrespective of religion or ethnicity, to place national unity and peace above all and to recognise their economic influence and significance within Africa.
He highlighted that the country’s strength lies in its ethnic and cultural diversity and called on citizens to show tolerance and commitment to the nation’s survival.
Praying for President Bola Tinubu, Atanda asked that he be granted divine wisdom to tackle the numerous economic and security challenges facing the country.
He stressed the importance of Nigerians sharing common development goals and working together to sustain peace.
He further asserted that the Federal Government must champion national unity and discourage divisive tendencies, particularly in politics and religion.
“With courage, tolerance, resilience, and responsible collective leadership, we believe that Nigeria’s journey in 2026 will be peaceful, smooth, and filled with happy events,” Atanda said, adding that all religious leaders carry a significant responsibility towards the nation and its people.
