President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded a sweeping victory in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election conducted across the 192 wards of Edo State.
Announcing the outcome of the exercise, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, who served as the returning officer, disclosed that Tinubu secured 131,096 votes, while his opponent, Stanley Osifo, received only one vote across the state.
Okpebholo described the primary election as peaceful, orderly and successful, noting that party members turned out across the state to participate in the process.
According to him, the exercise was conducted smoothly in all the wards and local government areas without major incidents.
Results presented at the APC secretariat in Ikpoba Hill, Benin City, showed overwhelming support for Tinubu in all 18 local government areas of the state.
In Oredo Local Government Area, Tinubu polled 9,177 votes while Osifo failed to record any vote. In Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Tinubu secured 13,147 votes, with Osifo again recording zero votes.
The president also dominated voting in the Edo North and Edo Central Senatorial Districts, while Osifo managed to secure his only vote in Ovia North East Local Government Area.
The APC presidential primary election was held simultaneously across the country as the ruling party begins preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
