Former Anambra State Governor and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi has attracted attention online after sharing a video of himself exercising in a gym ahead of the 2027 general election.
The video, posted on Wednesday, October 14, shows Obi working out on a treadmill while promoting a message of optimism about Nigeria’s future. Accompanying the footage, he wrote: “Exercise is the best form of medicine for the body.” The video also featured the message, “Nigeria will be OK.”
The post quickly generated reactions from Nigerians, with supporters praising his fitness routine and others using humour to draw comparisons with President Bola Tinubu.
One commenter wrote, “Make Tinubu recreate,” sparking further banter in the comment section. Businessman and social media personality Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord, also reacted with the word “Incoming.”
Beyond the jokes, the video has added another talking point to the growing political conversation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party before joining the NDC, has remained active in public discussions on governance and economic reform.
While the workout offers a glimpse into his personal fitness routine, it does not establish anything about the health or physical condition of other political leaders.
As election preparations continue, even seemingly ordinary social media posts are attracting political interpretations, reflecting the heightened public interest surrounding the next presidential contest.
