Yinka Richards, who served as the Special Assistant on Special Duties, submitted his resignation today in a formal letter addressed to the governor.
In his letter, dated February 16, 2026, Richards expressed profound respect and gratitude for the opportunity to work under Aiyedatiwa’s leadership. He stated, “Serving under your leadership has been a rare privilege and an honour of immense significance.” He emphasized his commitment to contributing to the developmental aspirations of Ondo State, describing his experience as both professionally enriching and personally fulfilling.
Richards’ resignation will take effect today February 18, 2026. He indicated that the decision was not made lightly but came after careful reflection, as he feels it is time to focus on his national assignment and pursue the next phase of his political and professional journey.
