Sunday Jackson has been released after spending more than a decade in prison and on death row for defending himself against an Islamic terrorist.
The development was disclosed by a United States lawmaker, Riley Moore, who made the disclosure via his verified Twitter page a short while ago.
Moore, while reacting to Jackson’s release, expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his readiness to work with the United States on issues of security, improved stability in the country and the protection of Christians.
“I appreciate President Tinubu’s willingness to work with the United States on addressing security, greater stability in the country, and protecting our brothers and sisters in Christ,” the US lawmaker wrote.
Jackson’s freedom comes after years of incarceration and a prolonged stay on death row following the incident in which he reportedly acted in self-defence.
