The Police Service Commission (PSC) has revealed plans to begin the recruitment of Cadets and Constables into the Nigeria Police Force this year.
The commission is currently finalising the necessary steps to kick off the recruitment exercise.
This update came when the Chairman of the PSC, Hashimu Argungu, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, led a team from the commission on a visit to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) in Abuja.
The purpose of the visit was to seek support from the NDPC for the upcoming recruitment process.
Argungu explained that the PSC is keen on working with the NDPC to ensure that only qualified and trustworthy individuals are selected for the Nigeria Police.
According to him, having access to accurate and well-protected data will help the commission run proper background checks on all applicants.
This, he believes, will play a major role in choosing the right people to serve in the police force.
He stressed that the commission is determined to carry out a recruitment process that is thorough and transparent.
By partnering with the NDPC, the PSC hopes to make sure every step of the recruitment meets proper standards and that those who are picked have the right character and background for the job.
