LAGOS — The Presidency has not publicly responded to unverified social media claims linking President Bola Tinubu to an alleged cancer diagnosis.
The claims gained attention after commentator and former journalist Kemi Olunloyo referred to information attributed to anonymous sources in a video published online on Sunday.
The claims also included an alleged treatment location. Olunloyo said she could neither confirm nor deny the report and acknowledged that the information had not been independently verified.
She later announced her retirement from journalism and withdrawal from social media. As of the time of publication, Starnews NG reports that no statement from the Presidency, an accredited medical professional or a credible news organisation had confirmed the allegation which is being spread across the internet as at the time of writing this report.
The claim remains unsubstantiated and should not be treated as fact in the absence of reliable and verifiable evidence, Starnews NG reports
