The Plateau State Government has called on residents and supporters across the country to throw their weight behind Big Brother Naija housemate, Sheba Faith Gamde, in the ongoing reality television competition.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Prince Miaphen, made the appeal on Thursday when he received members of Team Sheba, who visited the ministry to seek government support for the Plateau-born contestant.
Miaphen assured the delegation that the ministry would help mobilise support for Sheba and encourage her throughout the competition.
He described Sheba as a worthy representative of Plateau State, stressing that her participation in the popular reality show had provided an avenue for the state to gain wider national visibility.
“As a proud daughter of Plateau, I believe it is our collective responsibility to stand behind her and support her journey,” the commissioner said.
Miaphen consequently urged Plateau indigenes, residents, friends and associates of the state to vote massively for Sheba, noting that every vote could contribute to her chances of winning the competition.
“Together, we can help our own bring the ultimate prize home,” he added.
The commissioner also appealed to young people across the state to actively support the housemate, describing her appearance on the show as an opportunity to project Plateau’s identity and talent before a national audience.
“Let us support Sheba. Let us make Plateau proud,” Miaphen said.
