Heavy rainfall left parts of Wuju-Wuju Road in central Kano waterlogged, with floodwaters covering sections of the roadway and disrupting the movement of motorists and pedestrians.
The downpour, which affected several parts of Kano metropolis, caused temporary traffic congestion as commuters struggled to navigate flooded sections of the road. In some areas, drainage channels appeared overwhelmed by the volume of rainwater, leading to surface flooding.
Wuju-Wuju Road is one of the busy routes in Kano’s commercial district, and flooding along the corridor often affects businesses and daily activities whenever heavy rains occur.
Residents have repeatedly called on the authorities to improve drainage infrastructure and implement long-term flood control measures to reduce the impact of seasonal flooding across the city.
