Today, Starnews NG dispatched its photographer to the site of the ongoing construction of the Onyearugbulem–Irese Flyover in Akure, as well as to observe the dualization of the Oba Osupa–Oluwatuyi–Ijoka Road to capture live photos.
This visit is essential to provide accurate video footage and photographs of these construction projects, especially in light of some AI-generated images being circulated that mislead the public about the status of the work. Various images have been circulating, depicting the Ijoka project as abandoned, while others portray the bridge construction as poorly executed and painted in black.
Fake news reports can create unnecessary panic and confusion among the public. People should refrain from relying solely on social media for accurate and objective news. The two aforementioned projects are currently underway. During our visit, we observed workers actively engaged at the flyover project site; however, no workers were present at the Ijoka Road site during our visit. Nevertheless, Starnews NG can confirm that the project is very much active.
