A beneficiary of a free thyroid surgery programme in Ondo State Mrs Olusola Caroline, 65, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the wife of the state governor, Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, for sponsoring her life-saving medical treatment.
The surgery was successfully carried out in Akure under the supervision of the Ondo State Hospital Management Board, led by Dr. Oluwafemi Akeredolu.
Speaking after the procedure, the patient disclosed that the operation was conducted entirely free of charge, describing the intervention as a life-changing experience.
She revealed that all medical expenses and related bills were fully settled by the governor’s wife, sparing her the financial burden of the treatment.
According to the patient, she had never met or known the Ondo State First Lady before benefiting from the gesture.
“I didn’t know the First Lady of Ondo State before now. The surgery was done completely free, and I wasn’t asked to pay anything. I am deeply grateful for this kindness because I couldn’t have afforded the treatment on my own,” she said.
The intervention underscores ongoing efforts to improve access to quality healthcare for vulnerable residents in the state through philanthropic and government-backed initiatives.
