P-Square: Soso offers Peter N500m to Fight Twin Brother Paul in Boxing Bout

By Sunday Ameh

Nigerian music executive, Soso Soberekon, has offered a staggering N500 million to Peter Okoye, one-half of the defunct music duo, P-Square, to face his twin brother, Paul Okoye, in a celebrity boxing match.

Soberekon made the offer during Peter’s performance on Sunday night, with a video of the moment subsequently going viral on social media.

In the video, Soberekon, who was among those in the crowd, was seen raising his phone towards Peter while the singer performed on stage.

Displayed prominently on the phone was a message offering Peter N500 million to fight his twin brother in a boxing match.
The message read, “500 Million Naira to fight your twin in a boxing match.”

The unusual proposal comes amid the renewed crisis between the Okoye brothers, whose long-running feud has continued to attract public attention.

The latest development in the P-Square saga has largely centred on financial disagreements between Peter and Paul, with Peter recently making fresh allegations concerning the handling of royalties from the group’s music.
Peter had accused his twin brother and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, of allegedly diverting music royalties belonging to the group.

The allegations have further intensified public interest in the brothers’ relationship, with personalities and celebrities weighing in on the dispute.

The offer by Soberekon has now added another dimension to the controversy, as the music executive appeared to be suggesting that the brothers settle their differences in the boxing ring.

It remains unclear whether Peter accepted the N500 million proposal or whether Paul has responded to the idea of facing his twin brother in a celebrity boxing bout.

P-Square, made up of Peter and Paul Okoye, enjoyed widespread success before their relationship deteriorated, leading to the group’s split and subsequent attempts at reconciliation.

Their renewed dispute has continued to generate reactions from fans and members of the entertainment industry.
