Osun Poll: ‘Use BVAS Front Camera’ -Davido Tells INEC

By Opeyemi Adelakun

Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has urged officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission to use the front camera on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System when the device’s other camera fails.

Davido made the call on Saturday in a post on his X handle as voting continued in the Osun State governorship election.

The singer said the alternative camera on the BVAS could help voters overcome accreditation difficulties when the primary camera is not functioning.

“If your BVAS camera is not working, please tell the officials to use front camera. It is very active and fast!” he stated.

His comment came amid reports of technical challenges involving BVAS at some polling units during the election.

The BVAS is deployed by INEC to accredit voters using fingerprint and facial authentication, as well as for other election-related functions.

Davido has also been vocal about the conduct of the Osun governorship election in recent days, calling for greater attention to the exercise by local and international stakeholders.
