Ondo South Bye-Election: I’ll Deliver Effective Media Campaign for APC, Says Okunomo

A former Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Area and Ex-Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Hon. Barr. Banji Okunomo, has expressed appreciation to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress for appointing him as Chairman of the Media and Publicity Subcommittee for the June 20, 2026 Ondo South Senatorial Bye-Election.

In a statement issued on Friday, Okunomo described the appointment as a privilege and a call to service, pledging to deploy his experience to ensure a successful media campaign for the party’s candidate, Prof. Dayo Faduyile.

“I am deeply honoured by my appointment as Chairman of the Media and Publicity Subcommittee for the forthcoming Ondo South Senatorial Bye-Election. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the leadership of our great party for entrusting me with this responsibility,” he said.

The APC chieftain particularly thanked Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the Ondo State APC Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, for the confidence reposed in him.

According to him, the committee would work tirelessly to ensure that the party’s message reaches voters across the six local government areas that make up the senatorial district.

“Our party has produced Professor Dayo Faduyile as our candidate for this bye-election. It is now our duty to ensure that our message reaches every voter in Ondo South,” Okunomo stated.

He assured party members that the committee, comprising other experienced members, would deliver a coordinated and professional publicity campaign capable of securing victory for the APC.

Highlighting his political background, Okunomo said his previous roles as Ilaje Local Government Chairman and State Publicity Secretary had prepared him for the assignment.

“These experiences have equipped me with the skills and insight necessary to manage media and publicity campaigns effectively. I view this appointment not merely as a task, but as a call to service, and I am fully committed to delivering results for our party,” he added.

He also called on members of the committee and party faithful to work together ahead of the election.
“Let us ensure that our party emerges victorious in Ondo South,” he said.

The Ondo South Senatorial Bye-Election is scheduled to hold on June 20, 2026, with APC fielding Prof. Dayo Faduyile as its candidate.
