The Union of Ikale Indigenes has thrown its weight behind the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Ondo South Senatorial District by-election, Professor Dayo Faduyile, urging voters across the district to support his candidacy.
In a statement issued ahead of the June 20 poll, the President of the group, Chief Ambassador Omowole Omogoroye, described Faduyile as a competent, experienced and capable leader with the capacity to effectively represent the district at the National Assembly.
According to the group, Faduyile’s track record of leadership, professionalism and service, as well as his extensive network within and outside government circles, make him the most suitable candidate for the senatorial seat.
The union noted that the APC candidate possesses the qualities required to advance the developmental aspirations of the people of Ondo South Senatorial District and attract more federal presence to the area.
It also stated that Faduyile’s relationship with the immediate past senator representing the district, Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim, would help ensure continuity of ongoing developmental projects and programmes within the senatorial district.
The group expressed optimism that such continuity would facilitate the completion and expansion of key projects, including the Ore-Igbokoda Road dualisation project and initiatives related to the development of Nigeria’s bitumen resources.
Omogoroye urged eligible voters across the six local government areas that make up the district to come out en masse on election day and vote for the APC candidate.
He said the by-election presents an opportunity for residents of the district to choose experienced and purposeful representation capable of sustaining progress and promoting development across Ondo South.
The Union of Ikale Indigenes also called on APC members and supporters to remain united and committed to ensuring victory for the party in the forthcoming poll.
