Ondo HMB Praised Over Public Complaint WhatsApp Initiative

  • Ondo Civil Service Commission urged to replicate initiative

The former Chairman of the Ondo State Civil Service Commission, Apostle Afolabi Olatunde Mesomoale Aboyewa, JP, has praised the Ondo State Hospital Management Board (HMB) for launching a dedicated WhatsApp group aimed at enhancing public engagement and improving healthcare services.

Recently, Starnews NG reports that Ondo State Hospital Management Board (HMB) created a WhatsApp initiative which allows the public to voice their complaints and feedback regarding health facilities managed by the HMB.

Upon joining the platform, Apostle Aboyewa expressed his approval, stating, “As I said after joining this platform, the Board and Management of the HMB deserve commendation over the creation of this Platform.” His remarks underscore the potential for improved service quality within HMB-controlled health facilities as a result of the feedback mechanism established through the WhatsApp group.

Aboyewa noted that with sustained efforts and appropriate responses to issues raised on the platform, the quality of healthcare services in the state is poised for significant enhancement. “It is certain that the quality of services of the HMB-controlled Health Facilities will improve tremendously with the sustenance of and taking appropriate actions on issues which are raised on this platform,” he asserted.

In light of the positive implications of the “HMB Feedback Initiative,” the former civil service chairman proposed that the Ondo StateCivil Service Commission engage with the Office of the Head of Service to explore the possibility of replicating this initiative across all state ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). He believes that such a move would bolster efficiency within the public service.

“I believe that with the political will of the Government, the Civil Service Rules should be made, if need be, to accommodate the Initiative which, undoubtedly, will improve the level of efficiency in the Ondo State Public Service,” Apostle Aboyewa added.

This feedback initiative not only represents a significant step towards improving healthcare services in Ondo State but also serves as a model for other sectors within the state government. As the HMB continues to engage with the public through this platform, the potential for increased accountability and responsiveness in public service remains promising.

As of Sunday, January 11, 2026, the community eagerly anticipates the positive changes that this initiative will bring to the healthcare landscape in Ondo State.
