Alhaja Hon. Sekinat Tolanikawo Adelakun Akande, popularly known as Eruobodo 1 and wife of renowned Fuji musician Abass Akande Obesere, has formally declared her intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives, representing the Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Her declaration, made at St. Cyprian Primary School in Ibadan, drew a sizeable crowd of party faithful, women’s groups, and local supporters, reflecting early grassroots enthusiasm for her bid.
Addressing attendees, Adelakun spoke passionately about her motivation to enter the race, emphasising her longstanding commitment to community service and inclusive representation. She noted that her decision was rooted in a desire to amplify the voices of her constituents and deliver meaningful development to the area.
She also highlighted the importance of responsive leadership, pledging to prioritise the welfare of women, youth, and underserved communities if elected.
The declaration marks her formal entry into what is expected to be a closely watched contest, as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the next electoral cycle.
