The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has warned residents across several parts of the country to prepare for thunderstorms and rainfall from Monday through Wednesday.
The latest forecast indicates that weather conditions will vary across the country, with periods of rainfall and thunderstorms expected in different locations during the three-day period.
NiMet’s warning comes as changing weather conditions could affect road users, outdoor activities, aviation and other weather-sensitive operations.
Residents in areas expecting thunderstorms are advised to remain alert, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall, strong winds and lightning.
Motorists are also encouraged to exercise caution on wet roads, while residents should avoid taking shelter under isolated trees or near structures that could become dangerous during thunderstorms.
The agency continues to provide weather and climate information to support public safety and planning across the country. NiMet is mandated to provide weather forecasts, warnings and advisories to the public and weather-sensitive sectors.
With the rainy season still affecting several parts of Nigeria, residents are urged to monitor official weather updates and take necessary precautions whenever thunderstorms develop.
