The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has received a score of 82.65% in the 2025 Ethics and Integrity Compliance Scorecard (EICS) conducted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) from May 19 to June 20, 2025.
This result, communicated to the Agency in a letter dated December 29, 2025, awarded NiMet a rating of “Substantial Compliance” and ranked it 10th among 344 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) evaluated across the country, according to a statement released on Thursday.
Furthermore, NiMet secured the 11th position out of 356 MDAs on the ACTU Effectiveness Index (AEI) with a score of 82.50%, indicating a “Very Effective” status for its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).
The EICS assessment focused on essential areas such as Management Culture and Structure, Financial Management Systems, Administrative Systems, and the effectiveness of Anti-Corruption and Transparency Units, highlighting the robustness of the Agency’s compliance framework, governance structures, and operational effectiveness.
In a letter signed by ICPC Chairman Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, the Agency was praised for its established structures and processes that enhance efficiency and integrity.
The Management was encouraged to maintain the achieved standards to ensure consistent ratings and ongoing improvements in service delivery.
“NiMet is dedicated to maintaining the principles of transparency, accountability, and professionalism in fulfilling its responsibilities and will continue to enhance its institutional processes in accordance with national integrity standards.”
