Nigerian WWE sensation Oba Femi has etched his name deeper into professional wrestling history after defeating WWE legend Brock Lesnar in his first-ever Hell in a Cell match at the 2026 SummerSlam event in the United States.
The blockbuster main event took place on Saturday night at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, where the Lagos-born powerhouse continued his meteoric rise by overcoming one of the most decorated superstars in WWE history.
The victory carried added significance as it marked the first time Lesnar had lost a Hell in a Cell match, ending an unbeaten record in one of WWE’s most brutal and iconic match formats.
In a touching post-match moment, Lesnar embraced Oba Femi before acknowledging him as the future of WWE, while describing himself as part of the sport’s past. The gesture drew loud applause from fans inside the stadium and highlighted the mutual respect between the two competitors.
Speaking after the match, Oba Femi admitted he was surprised by Lesnar’s show of respect, saying he had always admired the former WWE champion and believed the admiration had always been mutual.
The latest triumph caps another landmark achievement in what has been a remarkable 2026 campaign for the Nigerian star. Earlier this year, Oba Femi defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania before capturing the coveted King of the Ring crown in June.
