The Nigerian Navy has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Batch 39 Basic Training School recruitment.
The application portal is expected to open on October 2 and remain accessible until October 31, 2026, according to the recruitment guidelines issued by the Navy.
The exercise is open to qualified Nigerian citizens by birth who have a National Identification Number and satisfy the prescribed educational, age, physical and medical conditions.
The Navy, in a statement shared on its official X handle on Monday, emphasised that applicants would not be required to pay any fee for registration or any other stage of the recruitment exercise.
“Online registration and other recruitment processes are free of charge and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the Exercise,” it warned.
Applicants must meet the minimum height requirement of 1.69 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.
They must also be medically, psychologically and physically fit and have no previous criminal conviction.
For candidates applying with O’Level qualifications, the Navy requires applicants to be between 18 and 22 years old as of December 31, 2026.
Such candidates must have at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
The guidelines also contain specific age and qualification requirements for applicants with OND and NCE qualifications, tradesmen, medical professionals and sportsmen and women.
After completing their online applications, successful candidates are expected to print their acknowledgement, parent or guardian consent, Local Government attestation and guarantor’s certification forms.
The Navy said details of the recruitment examination, including the date and venues, would be communicated to applicants at the appropriate time.
It advised prospective candidates to consult its official recruitment portal for further information once the application window opens.
The Navy also warned that applicants must submit only one application, stressing that multiple applications would result in disqualification.
“Only a single valid application is permitted, multiple online applications shall be disqualified,” the recruitment guideline stated.
The Navy further noted that candidates must be able to communicate in basic English, adding that inability to do so could lead to disqualification at any stage of the recruitment exercise.
