Nigeria and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation aimed at improving public sector reforms, institutional efficiency and performance management across government ministries, departments and agencies.
The renewed collaboration focuses on enhancing governance through improved policy implementation, accountability and evidence-based decision-making.
Both countries underscored the importance of building a more efficient public service capable of delivering quality services and achieving sustainable national development.
Under the partnership, technical support, knowledge exchange and capacity-building initiatives will be expanded to strengthen performance monitoring and evaluation systems within the Nigerian public sector.
The collaboration is also expected to promote transparency, improve service delivery and reinforce institutional reforms designed to boost citizens’ confidence in government.
Government officials from both countries described the initiative as another milestone in the long-standing Nigeria–UK relationship, expressing optimism that sustained cooperation would accelerate ongoing reform programmes, improve administrative efficiency and support inclusive economic growth through stronger public institutions.
